Description
2026 Collection Starter Fossil Mega-Kit
This is our Fossil Mega-Kit for 2026. We make one each year, and there are no repeats for at least three years from one kit to the next, so you can keep gifting or collecting these amazing sets year after year without worrying about repeating items.
Each kit contains the same 5 items, though of course, there will likely be variations between the one you receive and the example pictures because each fossil is a little bit different. That being said, we do our best to make sure each kit is amazing, so if one specimen is slightly poorer when compared to the example, we make sure to include better specimens for the other pieces to help even it out. The specimen that will shift most would be the dugong rib bone, as depending on where they’re found in the river, their fossilization takes drastically different routes; each is roughly the same size and shape, however. The other specimens are very similar from box to box.
This year the kit includes
- A Dugong Rib bone (a creature most similar to a manatee) from South Carolina, USA: 23 million years old
- A Large Rugose Horn Coral from Ohio, USA: 445 million years old
- A Fossil Walrus Tooth from Alaska, USA: 30,000 years old
- A Triceratops tooth from The Two Medicine Formation of Montana, USA: 82-78 million years old
- A Spinosaurus tooth from Morocco: 100 million years old
If sold separately, this kit has a value of $210, so it’s a great opportunity to get some amazing fossils! Especially the Triceratops and Spinosaurus teeth!
Each kit contains authentic, original fossils and comes with a name plate printed on cardstock to be durable. These are the perfect gift for the holidays, birthdays, or other occasions, and can also be great aids for teachers or volunteers.
