Fossil Glyptodon Shell Scute Plate (012823x)
- Species: Glyptodon floridanum.
- Age: Pleistocene
- Location: Englewood Mammoth Site, Englewood, Florida
- Collected in 1981 by Sonny Hazeltine
- This is a “NOT” a reassembly , this is a natural solid plate of 12 scutes
- This is a Mammal, not a dinosaur or a reptile, but because of it’s very large size and dinosaurian appearance it could easily be mistaken for one. These animals could reach sizes of approximately 14 feet long and 4-5 feet high. They closely resembled present day Armadillos. There were several different variations of this animal alive and in this area at this same time.
