Description
Fossil Walrus Jaw (260212t)
Species: Odobenus rosmarus
Age: Pleistocene, 50,000 years old
Location: Alaska, USA
This is the complete lower mandible from an ancient walrus. The jaw itself is in perfect condition, missing only a single tooth. The other teeth are all in their original location. These prehistoric walruses are still around today, along the Pacific Coast as a modern protected species. This jaw was legally collected, professionally sealed, and prepared according to all local laws in place at the time. Now it is very hard to collect this type of material without belonging to a First Nations group in Alaska. This makes opportunities like this one rare.
Offer includes a custom metal stand and Certificate of Authenticity
***We will be unable to ship this type of fossil to individuals in California, Washington State, Nevada, New Jersey, and New York due to ivory laws banning the practice, even for fossils***
