Fossil White-tailed Deer Jaw with Blue Mineralized Teeth
Species: Odocoileus virginianus (White-tailed Deer)
Age: Pleistocene, 2 million – 11,000 years ago
Location: Bonner Springs, Kansas, USA
Formation: Kansas River
This is a beautiful jaw specimen with three intact teeth still cemented in their proper sockets. This piece has no repair or restoration aside from a colorless coating to prevent degradation over time. During the fossilization process, certain minerals appear to have introduced themselves into the enamel of the teeth, which has turned them a shade of bluish grey, which adds to the spectacular nature of this one-of-a-kind item.
The offer includes a Certificate of Authenticity and a custom metal stand
